PALACE OF WESTMINSTER HDR MSP0003653
The palace of Westminster, London, more commonly known as the houses of parliament, sits on the river Thames in Westminster.br/ The building was designed by architect Charles Barry and was built in the 1840's. It covers an area of 8 acres and houses over 1100 rooms.br/ The clock tower is commonly referred to as quot;Big Benquot;, and is an iconic landmark, known and recognised all around the world, however quot;Big Benquot; is the name of the actual bell within the clock.br/ In the forground of the image sits Westminster bridge.br/ The image isn't perfectly aligned, and the moving parts to it apeear quot;ghostedquot;, but I like this, as to my mind, it conveys a feeling that the people and vehicles are just superficial to a landmark that has stood the test of time for so long, and are just quietly passing through, unnoticed and unimportant in the grand scheme of things.
