WESTMINSTER BRIDGE MONO HDR MSP0003617

WESTMINSTER BRIDGE MONO HDR MSP0003617

Westminster bridge spanning the river Thames in London connects Westminster on the north side of the river to Lambeth on the south side. Its construction started in 1738 and continued until it was opened in 1862. It is both a road traffick and pedestrian bridge with an overall length of 252 metres.br/An interesting fact is that it is painted the same colour green as the leather seats in the houses of parliament, which is on the same side as the bridge, this contrasts with Lambeth bridge which sits on the opposite side and is painted red, the same colour as the seats in the house of lords which sit on that side of Westminster.
