Here in the UK and Europe generally - Electricity Pylon or Pylon. In the States, Transmission or power tower.

Are they architecture? or just plain structures?

To many they are an ugly blot on the landscape, an eyesore, visual pollution. To others, they could be considered art.

I have to say that recently , I have had loads of my fun with the camera, picking out all sorts of angles and compositions with these things.
